Best way to carry a Glock G30?
Best way to carry a Glock G30?
My preferred carry gun is my Glock G30, but I am having a very tough time concealing it and carrying it. Especially in the summer. I know some guys on here carry G30's... how are you toting them? I have a few holsters and the one that gives me best access to the gun is my crossbread supertuck but it pulls on the side of my pants pretty hard from all the weight and it is sometimes hard to hide the butt of the gun when I have a T-shirt on. I have a thin IWB holster that the gun just slides through that I cary small of the back sometimes but you cannot sit with that on and that is not the easiest place to draw from. I have a shoulder rig but I don't ever seem to be able to use it even in the winter. I have other guns, and I usually end up carrying something small that I don't want to carry or going unarmed.
I really like the G30. It is cheap, and I have mine set up with sights I want and the trigger set up well and I like that it carries 11 rounds of +p talon .45's. Most of all though I am very comfortable shooting it. Any ideas to make it carry EZ?

Just curious but what kind of belt are you using for concealed carry? I good belt will definitely help and prevent the weight of the gun from sagging down.
Re: Best way to carry a Glock G30?
I have a couple different gun belts from the gun store. I don't know the brands. The one I use the most is a leather belt that is pretty stiff.
I am definitely open to suggestions on a particular brand of belt if it will help.

My first "real" gun belt was a Crossbreed.
It is very thick leather and I thought for $90, well, if it does the job, great.
It didn't.
I ended up buying a Blackhawk Gun Belt for $30
http://www.blackhawk.com/product/CQC-Pi ... 794,61.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I am sure there are many other belts out there, but these work so much better than the all leather Crossbreed belt that I have.
Whatever you get, I would suggest getting a Kydex reinforced belt and buying them in a local store, is not an easy task.
Buy them online, just follow each ones way to measure, as many of them measure the length differently.

What makes you think I don't have 1911's? I have 2. The Glock is way cheaper and a steel frame 1911 weighs as much. and is ez to replace unlike my 1911's.The Mad Moderate wrote:Trade it for a 1911...

First thing I thought reading your post is
He isn't wearing a CompTac KYDEX REINFORCED double layered leather gun belt.
the Kydex doesn't get much limper with time/wear like "just stiff leather" can
If a 1-clip holster, put the clip next to a pants belt loop

Thanks guys. I am pretty sure none of the belts I have are kydex reinforced.

Sorry, bad attempt at a joke. I have tried to conceal Glocks as well as 1911s and find the 1911s easier.JeepGuy79 wrote:What makes you think I don't have 1911's? I have 2. I wasn't offended my friend. Came across though that way didn't it? Here is my fave 1911:The Mad Moderate wrote: Sorry, bad attempt at a joke. I have tried to conceal Glocks as well as 1911s and find the 1911s easier.

And just to show I love all of mr. Brownings designs and not make anyone mad I have this too:

They have some wear cause they are old. And they have been used. And loved. If I could get a cheap, small, light 1911 I would love to carry it!

I carry in a belly band. The weight of the gun is supported in the band and has no effect on your clothing
Some parents say it is toy guns that make boys warlike. But give a boy a rubber duck and he will seize its neck like the butt of a pistol and shout "Bang!"......George Will

Re: Best way to carry a Glock G30?
I've carried a G30 in a Comp-Tac MTAC, similar to your Supertuck, for quite some time, usually between 3:00 and 4:00 http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95
It rides on a Wilderness Instructor 5-stitch belt... http://www.thewilderness.com/storepinna ... parent=142 Although any stiff gun-belt should work just fine.
But what really made it work best for me were the Perry suspenders http://perrysuspenders.com/perconsus2.html worn over the t-shirt under another shirt even if it's just a simple extra-long Duluth long-tail T. http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/mens ... 95587.aspx No longer do I worry about that "sinking/breezy" feeling while carrying a double arm-load of something... If you're concerned about printing a looser-fitting shirt or busier shirt pattern/design can help break-up the lines of the gun.
If you have a flat stomach, many seem to like the comfort (with the right holster) and speed of "appendix" carry between 12:00 and 2:00 which make it easier to hide the butt of the gun although trigger discipline is even more important "there" imo. I understand that it can be more uncomfortable bending forward but I can't confirm as my "table muscle" precludes my trying this carry method.
