The Continental Congress established the Continental Army on June 14, 1775. On June 14, 1777 the Continental Congress adopted the flag.
To all my Army Brothers who have been defending the country for 237 years, Hooya! Job well done.
To Old Glory, may you long wave over a free America on this 235th anniversary of your adoption.

Here's 3 flag-related questions, of increasing difficulty:
1. How many stars on an American flag?
50.
2. Add the red + white stripes on any size US flag. What's the total, and why?
13. For the original 13 colonies.
3. If you have a flagpole mounted in your yard, and someone famous dies, the
flag is to be lowered half way. Is your flag then at half mast, or half staff?
It's at half staff, since the flag is mounted on land.
Flags are at half MAST if they are located on a vessel, which used to have masts.
