Chicago loses in court again
United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has slapped down the city of Chicago for violating gun owners' rights again. http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/artic ... -arms.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison

Change your ways or get used to disappointment Chicago.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

If I find a link, I'll edit this and add it...but old Rahm basically said he doesn't care, he'll find a way to make sure guns stay illegal in his city...to keep people "safe", of course. I admire the courts in that they are trying to follow the Constitution, but if the dictators like Emmanuel and Bloomberg are just going to bypass the decision of the courts, its still a de facto ban. At least it puts the dictators in a bad light, though.C-dub wrote:Change your ways or get used to disappointment Chicago.

The court used "strict scrutiny" when assessing the 2nd Amendment. Good.

This looks like a duplicate of viewtopic.php?f=83&t=55953
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

.... and how is that strategy workin' for you, Dictator Emanuel?“The reason we have gun laws — the reason I’m trying to also pass tougher gun laws down in Springfield — is because it’s an essential complement to your overall crime strategy,” Emanuel said at an unrelated news conference.

It is a shame that the political machine in Chicago doesn't let the voting public tell the good Mayor/Dictator what they think of his policies.

Exactly - to me, that's the big takeaway from this decision.Jumping Frog wrote:The court used "strict scrutiny" when assessing the 2nd Amendment. Good.
I'll quit carrying a gun when they make murder and armed robbery illegal
