Playing The Waiting Game

Post by soccerguy59 »

Anxious but trying to be patient.

1/20 Attended class
1/22 mailed via certified mail (birthday present to me)
1/2X DPS received
1/27 return receipt received
2/20 return to me, one fingerprint card, missing signature (dang it)
2/22 received one fingerprint card
2/23 return to DPS, signed fingerprint card
3/07 letter with PIN
3/10 received letter with PIN

What makes this difficult is a co-worker who took the class with me sent theirs in 1/25, PIN letter dated 2/21, received PIN letter 2/24, received plastic 3/2. At best a 36 days to process, maybe even take 4 days off for mail transit time and that is 32 days, WOW. They are a spouse of a LEO, maybe that helped.

I know my error does not help, but I am a Notary with fingerprints on file with the State of Texas and my Spouse has Top Secret Security Clearance with the Feds for their job, so my background has been checked for several reasons and many different times.

Soccerguy59,
Welcome to the forum. Bummer on your oversight, but these things happen. From what I'm seeing here int the Waiting Room a number of people are getting their CHLs in very reasonable timeframes.

I'm sure with a mere missing signature that it won't delay yours. Sounds like you have a bit of an advantage too with the data you posted.

Good luck, be safe and be patient.
Welcome!!

Thanks glockoneniner

I have nothing to worry about, it's all about showing yourself to another set of eyes to validate your ability to handle responsibility.

Still Waiting

Post by soccerguy59 »

PIN issued 3/7, current status "Processing Application", my patience is getting thin.

I will be legal any day, I will be legal any day, I will be legal any day.

Another 10 days and my 60 days is up, unless it started over on 2/25 because of my mistake, then I still have 30 days.

soccerguy59...

Your error does not restart the clock. I made a stupid mistake on my application..forgot to sign the online application form...and it only cost me about an extra week. And most of that was time in the postal system.

Hang in there buddy, it shouldn't be long now!

Wally Walk Anticipation

I checked my status this morning, it had not changed. I just checked it again and it now reads, Application Completed - license issued or certificate active.

Heck Yes

Congratulations!

:cheers2:

See, I told you it wouldn't be long! Mine took three days to arrive from Austin (I'm in the D/FW area).

Congrats!!

FYI, my CHL took 60 days to process (not including days spent in the mail), and when my wife had to have her fingerprints retaken, she was a good month or so behind mine (even though we got her new fingerprint cards off within a week).

Sounds like they're getting better at pumping that plastic out of Austin!

I am ready to assume more responsibility and look forward to the opportunity, hoping never to have to fully use the responsibility.
