Post by garcia946 »

Wanting to get son his first rifle , been looking around and talked to lots of people. Everyone said the 10/22 is the way to go, Ive looked around one prices and there are lots of goodies I can do as he gets older. Looking for a local sale or if someone can point me the right way on a good sale on one.
Thanks :tiphat:

Check Academy. They usually have new ones for under $200.

I`ll swing by Academy , but I did like the 10/22 TD model. I`ve even looked at a SR22 , for me and him. Like the AR style look.

If getting for a young child, consider the "compact" 10/22 (http://www.ruger.com/products/1022Compact/models.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), which has a shorter pull than the others (about 3/4"). It still works great for adults. I own one privately that I've occasionally considered selling, but it's just too darn fun to shoot (although I haven't shot it in about 4 years now).

CDNN lists one in their May catalog for $189. It is an 18.5 inch barrel standard model. 'course you get to pay Tax as CDNN is a Texas company. Also the FFL fee. CDNN charges 19.99 shipping for long guns but you get to ship any accessories for free :)
