I have seriously seen $600-800 AR-15's and several handgun brands

Yup. They even said we could shoot my daughter's M&P15-22 in there.rentz wrote:They allow 22lr on the pistol range without a problem.mdoan300 wrote:So no steel/aluminum case, no semi-wadcutters (assuming no .22LR since that's exposed lead), and no 5.7x28 ammo. Nice! If they keep this up, then the only thing they'll allow is spitballs.BSB wrote:I took my son there today to practice for cowboy action this weakend. The kid says do you have any exposed lead? I said lead semi wadcutters. He says no lead. I said your crazy and left. I shot the same stuff there a few weaks ago. All I shoot is lead. I guess I have no use for that place.![]()

Ive heard them explain to people why they dont allow steel/aluminum case. They claim they are dangerous and pieces of the metal can fly downrange, etc. but the real reason is they cant resell the cases.
I took my first two CHL classes there and also thought they were good. Pistol prices, at least on Glocks, are about $50 less than others. It seems to me, however, that they more than make that up on their rifles.soonerbldr wrote:I took my CHL class there. The instructor was knowledgable and overall it was a good experience. The prices when I was there last time on pistols was about par with what you see at Cheaper than Dirt or Cabela's. You have t have competitive prices now if you want to move product.
The range is okay but I am ready for one of the Frisco Gun Club to open this December since it is on my way home.
Really??BSB wrote:The whole Frisco shooting range thing is going no where fast. If they are fighting over a name then that shows you what I am talking about. I drove by the All Stars Ave. location and its just a sign. They have not started construction and if the do it will take a year to open. If Bullet Trap wins than I will be driving to Lewisville as they should have their range open in the next 6 mo. .....I hope. As far as the name goes I don't want to join a club. I just want to shoot!mdoan300 wrote: One of the ranges in Frisco is being built by The Bullet Trap (http://www.friscogunclubinc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, off Eldorado Pkwy) and the other one is being built by the DFW Gun Club (http://www.friscogunclub.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, off All Stars Ave). Both are fighting for the Frisco Gun Club name.

I'll be happy to give them another look, but between Cheaper than Dirt, Gunmaster, Academy, Cabelas and others in the area, they rank last IMHO.EvilNuff wrote:Wow BSB I had not realized there were two Frisco gun ranges in the works...that's kind of crazy.
RSJ: Some stuff might be marked up but quite a bit is not. They are the cheapest decent quality 9mm ammo I have found in the DFW area for example.
Not surprising. I will NOT be giving that range/store any of my money. I am all about supporting a local business...but not at that markup!Jimineer wrote:$3500 intro price for a VIP membership. Holy cow. Then $1000 per year renewal. Holy cow.
