FLA:"Man tasered for jaywalking" was CHL refusing to ID self

The above link is part 1 of the incident leading to a Florida CHL being tasered and arrested.
It is 3 minutes, 34 seconds long.

The above link is Part 2, a continuation of the incident and arrest from Part 1.
It is 8 minutes, 20 seconds long.

An African-American man commited a jaywalking offense in Casselberry, Florida (N.W. Orlando suburb).
When asked for ID his lady friend began filming the incident. The man proved to be his own worst enemy
while standing up for his right not to give ID. The officers seemed to be handling things professionally,
but the man resisted working with them.

His aggravating girlfriend runs her piehole the whole time. The man resists giving ID, then resists the arrest
process. He gets Tased multiple times.

Only when he's cuffed up on the ground do the LEO's discover that he's got a concealed handgun about 4 PM.

Apparently he has a Florida CHL (CCW?) and a security officer's license. Since he has this run-in, I don't think
he'll hold onto them. Does Florida have a law saying that CHL's have to ID themselves as a CHL? Heck, he didn't
even want to give them his regular ID (driver's license).

This incident has been described by the rabble-raising press as "Florida man tasered for jaywalking".

These 2 videos will take about 11:54 to watch, but they will enlighten you as to the problems that this
man caused himself. Can you say "lawsuit for money"?

The LEO's police chief says that this video will be used in training his officers in how to deal with such situations.

What a moron. His lady friend is obviously as uneducated as he is and spouts off every multi syllable word she's ever heard trying to appear intelligent. It gives CHL holders a bad rap since he is being spotlighted in the media because of this incident

Thanks for the summary. Now I won't have to use up 11:54 minutes of my time watching two morons.

Well, they apparently do have a requirement to present your ID and CWP if carrying, but it's non-criminal act.
790.06 …. The licensee must carry the license, together with valid identification, at all times in which the licensee is in actual possession of a concealed weapon or firearm and must display both the license and proper identification upon demand by a law enforcement officer. Violations of the provisions of this subsection shall constitute a noncriminal violation with a penalty of $25, payable to the clerk of the court.
They also have a Stop and ID law, but there has to be there are requirements for the Terry Stop. Didn't watch the video, so not sure how that piece plays out in this scenario
856.021 Loitering or prowling; penalty.—(1) It is unlawful for any person to loiter or prowl in a place, at a time or in a manner not usual for law-abiding individuals, under circumstances that warrant a justifiable and reasonable alarm or immediate concern for the safety of persons or property in the vicinity.
(2) Among the circumstances which may be considered in determining whether such alarm or immediate concern is warranted is the fact that the person takes flight upon appearance of a law enforcement officer, refuses to identify himself or herself, or manifestly endeavors to conceal himself or herself or any object. Unless flight by the person or other circumstance makes it impracticable, a law enforcement officer shall, prior to any arrest for an offense under this section, afford the person an opportunity to dispel any alarm or immediate concern which would otherwise be warranted by requesting the person to identify himself or herself and explain his or her presence and conduct. No person shall be convicted of an offense under this section if the law enforcement officer did not comply with this procedure or if it appears at trial that the explanation given by the person is true and, if believed by the officer at the time, would have dispelled the alarm or immediate concern.
(3) Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

I don't think that is applicable. He was jaywalking, not loitering or prowling.

Backing up a whole level, I think initiating the whole jaywalking stop was complete Bovine Excrement anyway. Everything after that was just more bad ju-ju rolling downhill.

He broke a law and had every right to have his ID asked for. Why does he think otherwise?

He probably thinks that he can turn this contrived incident into "free money." I hope he's wrong.

Copycat came to mind when I watched this video. Seems like people want to make a video challenging the police on what is right and wrong. Their life would be much simpler if they would just produce the ID and be done with it. They would most likely have been on there merry way in just a minute or two had they done so.

Sad part is, ignorant people buy into it and the cop hating remains strong. Up until a year ago I really wanted to pursue law enforcement, but I continue to see all of the ignorance of people with blatant disregard for cops. I don't want any part in that.

I hope he gets convicted for resisting arrest, even if Jackson and Sharpton organize another million moron march like they did to get Zimmerman railroaded.
