Really "open" carry

All the similar Israel photos of people w. their SBRs are sans magazine. I'm guess it's policy to leave the mag out unless needed.

OTOH, I'd feel like a target for a mugging/theft of a valuable rifle if I didn't have a loaded mag handy!

Due to the bikini distraction factor, apparently no one has yet noticed that the young lady's SBR doesn't have a magazine in it. Her attire doesn't leave many options for keeping it elsewhere on her person.

Maybe it's in her beachbag.

If not the point of carrying around an empty SBR escapes me.

At first glance, I thought that photo was taken around the Lyon's Club park in Rusk. On second look, there is no sand around the pool.

The location of the magazine may be irrelevant here. She probably isn't worried about being mugged. It might be policy that they not carry a loaded magazine with them. She might be more worried about this. The extra emphasis is mine. Notice they didn't mention what would happen to the person that might steel her weapon, but what would happen to her if her weapon were stolen.

When soldiers take their weapon off military premises, they must guard it closely and keep it on their person, at all times. Having one's weapon stolen is harshly punished with time in military prison a given. "

To be clear, I meant I'd love to see women carrying guns like this, regardless of attire. In fact, I'd rather they be in jeans and t-shirt with a rifle slung over their back, than unarmed in a bikini --though I don't object to the bikini.

When my parents visited Israel two years ago they said that people strapped with rifles was common. Some had their weapons in Condition III and some, like the picture, had no magazine inserted at all. They visited for three weeks and we had limited contact and because at the time tension was high, I constantly watched the news and prayed no one blew themselves up at any of the places they were scheduled to visit. They had called me about 8 days into their trip and said that they were on their way to a museum in Tel Aviv then off to the Dead Sea. That night I saw on the news that masked gunman killed and injured people at a museum in Tel Aviv and I was worried sick that my parents were caught in the crossfire. They called me about 12 hours after the incident and told me that the museum they were supposed to visit was in fact the same one that was attacked. Though, they said that people died and were injured, because the fact that a lot of people are armed, they were able to shoot back and kill the attackers before they killed more innocent people.
