Mmmmmmmm!

Post by The Annoyed Man »

I just want you all to know that, between the ribs I've got smoking in my Big Green Egg, and the ranger cookies my wife is baking in the kitchen, I have the very best smelling house in north Texas.......maybe all of Texas.....right now.

Carry on.

I thought you were meditating at first, but alas, you are just making us feel hungry and left out ;-)

I have an XL BGE. I need to get a Medium just for the wife, daughter, and I. The XL is great when we have guests. I can grill several steaks or ribs, while also grilling several ears of corn. However, I'm still an amateur when it comes to grilling. My next door neighbor grills on one of those little aussie grills and puts me to shame. If our neighborhood smells good you can bet it's coming from his backyard.

One of my observations of life is that aromas coming from neighbors alway smell better. Sometimes, I find that my sense of smell gets dulled when I am cooking. By the time the meal is ready my appetite is also dulled.

Sorry guys, I was busy.

Bill, we bought ours on July 5th, but today is the first time I've used it. It works really well, and the ribs are perfect.....almost. They got wrapped in foil after smoking for about 2.5 hours with a dry rub on and are being chilled right now in the fridge. Tomorrow, when our son and his SO come over with a couple of friends from church, the ribs will be glazed with a honey based BBQ sauce and popped back onto the grill along with some brats and chicken breasts.

Ranger cookies.....This was Laura Bush's recipe. They're like chocolate chip cookies, but with extra stuff like coconut, craisins, and pecans added. They smell delicious. But even those are for tomorrow.

You see, as you age, you gain the superpower of delayed gratification. When you wait, things are made better by the antici...........
