Russia May Legalize Possession of Handguns

Post by JJVP »

A bill that would allow Russians to possess handguns and use them for self-defense without fear of being exposed to criminal liability bill will likely be proposed in the State Duma early next year, Izvestia reports.
Proponents insist that violent crime statistics tend to decline as the number of legal firearms owners increases.
Imagine that, even the Russians get it.

I'm pretty sure somebody else posted a video a month or two ago about this gun. It looked kind of like a cross between a Glock and an M&P. It seemed to be a decent weapon.

Here's a thought to twist yer noodle...... Russia under Putin is still a top down economy. Somebody has designed a decent pistol, but with the impending UN gun treaty, they won't be able to (legally) export them to other countries. What to do? Putin issues directive number 468B49.... "Legalize handgun ownership.......we need to get sales of this thing off the ground." The obscure billionaire who owns the factory causes another "dasha" (country estate) to sprout up in a luxurious area near Moscow, with Pootie-Poot's name on the title.

Yeah, I think I want one of those...
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.
