The last nasty ad I could stand was the lady talking about her son's life only being worth $500, and "how could Cruz sleep at night."

Her son's unfortunate mental illness has zip to do with this race....
Exactly. Where do they find these people?
Exactly. I was leaning Cruz, but that ad tore it for me. I don't think I saw 5 Cruz ads during the entire runoff, but I was blitzed with big money, cheesey, over the top negative Dewhurst ads. At that point, I don't really care what his politics are, I'd never vote for someone who need to do that almost exclusively to convince me.

No, no, you missed my point. People cross over during the primaries. If there happens to be a runoff, they are limited to voting in the same party's runoff as in which they first voted in the initial primary.
I understand that perfectly. The same argument applies to the initial primary. ;-)

Besides, while folks are supposed to only be able to vote on the same ballot for the runoff, there are ways around it. The poll worker at my polling place was offering to stamp folks cards with a simple "voted" instead of "voted rep" during the initial primary. With a card stamped in that manner, I doubt it would be hard to vote on one party ballot in the primary and the other for the runoff.
