Going to Florida

Post by sessionh »

I will drriving to Florida for vacation and will of course will pass through Lousiana, Mississippi and Alabama. I know those states all recognize my Texas CHL but I don't know if there are differences in the carry laws in those states. Does anyone know of a central place on the web where I can find out differences in the laws in those states versus what I know in Texas? I'm guessing I will have to just dig through the offical state sites for each but I thought I would ask just in case.

Thanks in adavance for any help you can give me

You'll need consult each state's website as it relates to CCW/CHL and learn what their rules are. I recently travelled to South Carolina from Texas and that's what I did. My biggest issue was trying to determine what other states signage looked like. I quickly found out that we here in Texas have it very nice as it is crystal clear. In other states not so much. You shouldn't have any problems if you do that and if you're not sure, ask. Enjoy traveling safer than before.
I like to keep this handy... for close encounters.

OR.... you could use: http://apps.carryconcealed.net/packngo/index.php (they appear to be having a server issue at the moment....).

Don't forget the NRA!

Oh, and while you are there, try to avoid shooting anyone wearing a hoodie who looks like the President's son. :biggrinjester:

you can also go to the tx dps website and use their map. It will have a link to each of the states laws! I would be areful using a app. I would want to make sure I have the actual state law rather than information gathered from an app
