Take a gander at this article and what the "cached of high powered weapons and knives" is. Dare I even ask what many of us would be classified as having?

Just where is a homeless person to store their weapons? Does you Second Amendment rights end just because you do not have a home? I am not trying to defend this guy, only trying to understand what a person should do with any guns they may own at the point where paying rent/mortgage is no longer possible.

Back to the OP's question. I guess using the posted link's article as a guide, there are a lot of us that are international arms dealers.

I don't have that many rounds, yet, but I'm trying.

Like i8, I began to wonder about a homeless person's 2A right to possess a gun. Can a homeless person get a CHL? If the address onyour CHL must match the address on your DL or ID card and you don't have an address are you automatically disqualified from getting a CHL? Or for that matter, if you don't have an address are you automatically unable to buy a gun from an FFL?

What am I missing here people? What did this guy do that was illegal? Were those weapons prohibited in CA? They ended up releasing him, but I think they kept his guns.

My first thought is that is, well, California, and any one of us could be doing time at Folsom if caught with a .22 in Winterhaven. But then, too, homeless folks are frequently in that state due to mental health issues and that is one of those things the feds like to look at when one purchases a gun, so just perhaps, that's the nexus of the matter.

In early, 2006 my wife and I sold off almost everything and traveled the USA with our RV for a few years. (We are self-employed and as long as we have Internet connectivity we can work from anywhere.) During this time we had no real 'home address'. We did have a postal mailing address--UPS Store. When I renewed my DL, I inquired as what to do about the address. DPS informed me that I could use my mailing address. When I applied for my CHL, I again asked this question and was told to use the same address as my DL. IDK what one would do if they did not have a mailing address. Our auto insurance was a nightmare, but that is another story...........

In my previous rant I did forget that he could have had his guns taken away because they were not in his home that he did not have and therefore probably illegal since he liekly did not have a CHL. :banghead:

Califonia is very anti gun. You are only supposed to have a gun in your vehicle is you are on your way to or from a shooting sport. When I lived there, my neigbor was a cop and informed me of all the stupid transpertation laws. He was LA county, and san fransisco is worse. How ever there are some very pro gun towns as well.

I think the only explanation for such blatant hyperbole is San Francisco. What was on the table there, really? A shotgun, a .22 rifle, some sort of derringer and another pistol that was perhaps also a .22 rimfire...and a bunch of "stuff". Come to think of it, kind of seems like he could have set up a table at a California gun show... :biggrinjester:

I think this line from the Chief says it all:
"Obviously any firepower we can get off the street, we’d rather have sooner or later"

I think that'd be a light range trip for more than a few on this board. :)

/Cali Mode ON Golly! I was alway taught to not keep live ammunition near any firearm it could be dangerous if a cartridge were to levitate into the chamber of one of those dangerous firearms. /Cali Mopde OFF

That's why I have one warehouse for firearms and the other one for the ammo.

Really, 5800 rounds is a cache of ammo? I have more empty brass than that...

In Cali they might consider that brass as ammo.

The quickest way to get firepower off the street is disarm his employees.
I didn't vote for Obama.
Somebody else did that.
