new tx license plates

I saw the link and map. It says that Harris county is using the new plates, but they don't look like your picture.

Apparently not all offices have received them yet in your county.

Are these the standard plates or only if you have a "classic" vehicle? WildBill just got his a couple weeks ago and I got mine a couple of months ago. That's pretty new.

I haven't seen those yet, but I have seen the reverse with a black background. I thought it was just an option if you didn't want the standard plates.

It's my belief that the reverse with the black background are the optional specialty plates and the new Texas Classic will be the standard issue. Those specialty plates are pricey. I have a set on my vehicle and they cost me an extra $30 each year. Not sure that they are that special to me anymore. I thought the extra $30 was a one time deal when you first got the plates, but found out different on the second year renewal.

I have a year before my plates turn seven years old. I hate the plates that are out now( too much color going on) and the "classic tx" plates will look sweet on my black truck.

I was thinking of getting a specialty plates. It seems like a one time fee would cover the cost of printing, but $30 every year seems a bit much.

Great......now we will have to physically go to the County Tax Office every 7 years to get new plates........another great idea for the Govt to get more money from us and waste more of our time.

I've had my current truck for over 7 years. We had another one for 13 before selling it to get a new one. One car for 11 years and another for 7 before selling it.

I finally bought a new car last month, but I still can't bear to get rid of my old 1994 Honda Accord.

Honda cars are great vehicles. I worked at a Honda dealer for several years. I can remember when they were only built in Japan and there would be a waiting list to buy one before the next shipment arrived.

Honda cars are great vehicles. I worked at a Honda dealer for several years. I can remember when they were only built in Japan and there would be a waiting list to buy one before the next shipment arrived.

My old Honda was built in Japan. The new ones are being made in Alabama. I was told at the Honda dealer that after the Tsunami and the reactor meltdown they had to close the factory in Japan and move the assembly plant to Alabama. I don't know if they are rebuilding it.
