After the first few seconds of the robbery going smooth they assume everyone is going to comply so they focus on the loot. Most often the BG's start scrambling when the shooting starts. Just dont be between them and the door.

Not meaning to hijack the thread (Im sure I will regret writing this. ;-) ) but Ive read several articles that the mag spring tension is weakened by repeated flexing; not the constant compression of a full load.

Good policy!

True. Jumping Frog and others have had some excellent posts discussing this issue. Here is just one such thread.

I would hate for my last thought to be ... "Darn, I wish I had brought another magazine".

If I have to have a last thought, I'd rather it be, "at least I am leaving behind a huge pile of spent brass and my firearms at slide-lock!"

yep - you guys got me scouring the interpipes for legitimate research and results regarding spring testing and tension... looks like the consensus is just as y'all have suggested - keeping the mags fully loaded is not going to harm the spring or the functionality of the magazine.

so, i now have that one extra round packed into the magazine that lives in the weapon and i've begun experimenting with a new holster design:

Hey! I resent that! Don't any of you guys still thinker with electronics (granted electronics and radio equipment is only 1/16 of the store now). Radio Shack was vital in building my home made attic mounted HDTV antenna. To buy the antenna Balun online would have cost $15 with shipping, only $4 to buy in the store.
Radio shack has morphed into a wierd a phone reseller. Even for electronic DIY folk its hard to justify shopping there. Labor is so cheap in china that it is cheaper to but a replacement than to repair it yourself. If you make $20 dollars an hour, an extra half hour at work covers the price difference and you save time driving to the store and gas money.
