Borne Legacy

Saw Borne Legacy, really enjoyed it.

Spoiler alert, I'm going to mention something that happens in the movie.

Unfortunately, there is a scene where a crazy individual brings a gun to work and begins shooting fellow employees. Only thing I did notice is people let him reload his gun twice.

But other than that uncomfortable scene, I liked it as well or better than the others in the series.

How would you compare it to the rest of the series?

I went to see the movie Saturday. IMO it was okay at best. I have been a Bourne fan from the first day I started reading The Bourne Identity in ~1980. The beginning of the movie was good. However, as the movie progressed the story was lost because of too much screen time of action sequences. The final action scene was way too long unnecessary in the story telling. I think the purpose of the movie was too set the stage for the next installment.

My words to my wife as we left the theater were, "Ludlum would be irritated if he had to watch that!"

That is about how I thought it would be. Of course, it would be very difficult to keep up with the previous movies.
I think to many movies have gone to gratuitous action scenes to entertain their audience instead of a good, believable story line!
Don't get me wrong, I like a good action flick! I just don't care for random action like you. mentioned.

My wife and I also saw it.

I thought it was pretty good,it seemed like things were explained a little better--and it cleared up some questions I STILL had from Bourn 1-3. Jeremy Renner makes a good character. He seems more... emotionally connected and human than Jason Bourne did. Action sequences were great, as expected, but the last action sequence is a bit too long.

Worth a matinee fee.

I liked it as well or better than the other movies. But from the other posts it seems, others did not find it as good. I liked all the action sequences and felt the final action sequence was great. The first Borne movie is still the best, but to me this comes in a good second or third, especially since it introduces a new character and is forth in the series. I liked Jeremy Renner from the Mission Impossible movie and he is equally good in the lead role. As a positive for this movie, the female lead believeable and is played by someone who is very easy on the eyes.

This miniseries/movie was much closer to the Ludlum story line than any of the other movies. Made in 1988 and for the small screen it was a good movie of its time. If you like the Bourne franchise, I would suggest reading the books. If you have the opportunity to read them, you may get a sense of why my 'review' is not very positive.

As a side note my favorite Robert Ludlum book is The Prometheus Deception. If you get the opportunity give it a read. If you are a Bourne junkie, Eric Van Lustbader has written seven additional books in the Bourne series. Lustbader was granted permission to continue the Bourne series from the Ludlum estate. All of Lustbader's books were published after Ludlum's death in 2001. Although the writing style is much different, these books are a good read.

I've never read any of the books, but I really enjoyed the movies that I've seen. But I have a real problem with Matt Damon and any of the actors when they start showing their liberal side. Remember all the crap he spouted off about Sarah Palin? He made the statement that she scared him, when she was running with McCain. Another thing I don't appreciate is these anti-gun clowns that make all these good shoot um up movies. Of course, they live in a world where they're protected from the regular world the rest of us live in. I think the main reason I enjoy a lot of violence in movies is that I don't like it in real life. Sometimes they sure make it hard for you to even want to pray for them. Looks like I went out in left field again, sorry about that. Have a good one.

They probably are just setting it up for another. Isn't this one supposed to be going on concurrently with the 3rd Bourne movie? I guess they needed to show the relationship before going on.
