Sorry, yes I meant inform if you are carrying and I know it doesn't say that. It is a habit I have started because every time I have presented ID with my chl I have been asked if I was currently carrying and where on my body it was by all local LEO, not game wardens. I asked the officer about this and he said almost all CHL holders (it least where I live) show him their chl even if they are not carrying. This is why I have been asked if I was carrying both times I was stopped by a local PD even after I presented my chl. So I just tell them right away that I am physically carrying on my person or in my car.
But no you are not required to verbally inform. Just present your chl and id.
Edit: You should have seen the face on the LEO who asked where my gun was last time I got pulled over. I said on my right hip, my bug on my ankle and my fiancee has her SP-101 in the glove box. He just said "ok, keep your hands where I can see them at all times".
