MORPHO fingerprint alternatives?

Post by pigmalean »

Hi all, NEWB here with problems....

I'm a Directional Driller- basically I steer oil and gas wells.

Unlike most oil field jobs, I don't have a set schedule: I work from when I'm called to a project until the well is finished.

Called Morpho to schedule a fingerprint appointment... and they said, "Sept 13" is the next available."

Only problem is, I won't be here- probably- at that point. I know I"m going to a well this monday or Tuesday, and my part normally lasts from 3 to 5 weeks.

With doctors appointments, normally when I explain this, they fit me in. The idiot on the phone with MORPHO, however... just keeps repeating, "Our next available appointment is Sept 13."

I offered to pay a higher rate for 'rush appointment,' or somesuch.... no dice.

Cripes. Fingerprints take about 2 minutes, and we need a freaking appointment? No flexibility, at all? Even the passport office has a "Rush" surcharge.

Are there any alternatives to using Morpho?

Thanks,
Robert

Robert - sorry, but L1-MorphoiTrust is the only game in town. And, because of that, they don't have to offer decent customer service. Would love to help you out, but we don't get to set our own appointments, or take walk-ins. We only get what they choose to send to us.

I would make an appointment, then, if you aren't able to make it, call the local L1 office where you are scheduled. We do have the ability to hold a record in our system, once it has been downloaded to us. Then we can take your prints at a later date. Not all locations are willing to do that, so no guarantees. Good luck to you!

Does "take your prints at a later date," mean the local office might do it on a short-notice basis? As in, schedule it for the 13th of Sept, call on the 12th and say, "I'm sorry, but I'm in Wyomig and cannot make it tomorrow." Then I call the local guy when I head back to town, and he has the ability (at his discretion) to do it without another appointment?

Yes, that is what we do. If you can't make you scheduled appointment, let us know when you are coming, and we will work you in.

I cannot guarantee other offices will do that. As you have said, "at their discretion".

The key is, once you cannot make the scheduled appointment, DO NOT call back to the 888 number at Morpho Trust! Call the local office where you are scheduled. Perhaps they will take pity on you.

Wow. Thanks for the suggestions, Crossfire.

If I lived closer, I'd sign up for your classes in a heartbeat... unfortunately, I live in San Angelo.
