So a loaded black scary rifle strapped to your back can be carried in down town Dallas, as long as you don't touch it? Or will you still be charged with disturbing the peace? I am assuming you will still be stopped and questioned by the police regardless. I am assuming you will also probably need a good reason for why you are doing this and pass the attitude test. But assuming if all that goes ok and you are not carrying any illegal drugs, or jaywalking and have no outstanding warrants, will you be free to go about your business?

It sounds like the prosecution has to prove intent. So as long as you act appropriately and don't run into any police officers that don't think the 2nd Amendment shouldn't apply to you, you should be fine.

However, you need to tone down the attitude. The Sheriff's deputy in attendance had to inform him that this was perfectly legal in Texas.

As an aside, we should probably tighten up our immigration standards from places like Kali to require that prospective Texans learn a little something about our culture and values before we let them come here.
