Don't rock the boat in Lake County

Post by Ameer »

A longtime game warden with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks who investigated allegations of poaching by Lake County law enforcement officers has been reassigned to another state agency.

Threats to Frank Bowen’s life were listed as one of the reasons he was transferred to the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation earlier this month.

I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

With 21 years in, he should have known “you do what’s right, you pay the price”.

It has been that way since there were governments. It’s rotten but that’s the way it is.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

Every law enforcement officer implicated in the poaching or death threats should be suspended without pay pending further investigation. If they are cleared, restore their pay. If not, convict them and throw them in the clink.

Well written, eminently readable story. Typical politicians too - always think they're above the law.

I'm glad that LBJ couldn't touch him. Seems like an intertesting fate to have the same Game Warden on sniper duty overseeing LBJ.

We are currently on Flathead Lake in Lake County, Montana. Frank Bowen is a friend of ours and one whom I'd call on for backup in a heartbeat. Frank is Number One!

I had occassion to call the Lake County Sheriff's office with a complaint and request for assistance a couple, three weeks ago, Two cruisers arrived and they were not receptive to a call from a FWP Camp Host. Do the Deputys' attitude go back to Frank's investigation...? I kinda' think it did. I had to call them a couple times last summer and they were most cooperative...then.

BTW, Montana FWP Camp Hosts have neither a Batman License nor authorization to carry while on duty.

BTW:

Polson is the county seat of Lake County. The Polson Gun Association, of which I'm a member, has a real dandy rifle and pistol range off of Kerr Dam Road if you're ever in this 'hood. :cheers2:
