Joe Biden resigns for "unspecified health reasons"

Post by OldCannon »

I bet that caught your attention, huh?

So, rumors are chugging more and more in this direction. The Donkey Party is realizing that their medi-scare tactics against Paul Ryan aren't working, and they're looking for a new angle. There's an interesting article from yesterday here (http://ex-army.blogspot.com/2012/09/the ... ambit.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - fair warning, this guy is a little paranoid) and other sites are taking additional notice of the GOP's sharpening focus on Biden (http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/ ... story.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Indeed, the race for votes might be more about "picking the best VP" than the presidential candidates themselves (those that are on the fence typically don't have strong feelings about Romney or Obama, so they look to the VP choice as a "long-term indicator).

True to the Obama style, it would become unsurprising if Obama "graciously accepted" Joe's resignation as his VP's running mate for some convenient reason, so that Obama could campaign with another candidate; one that is younger, more appealing, and FAR less gaffe-prone.

OK, fine, but please do it after the debates. That will be prime time comedy at its best.

Joe won't resign, his ego won't let him, and the party doesn't have a "Ryan" who can challenge our Ryan. Short of a military coup, the democrats are going to lose this election big time. We cannot relax our guard until its over, but I think the republican party's momentum is going to be impossible for democrats to overcome.

You're doubly right, TAM. Joe is too egotistical, and Ryan is a steamroller.

I would love to see this year's election become an electoral landslide. On the other hand, speaking in fair honesty, history has not shown that parties that win all 3 legislative areas behave with good fiscal responsibility. I hope the coming years will give us all a chance to see history NOT repeat itself.

OldCannon,

Are you that desperate for attention?

Isn’t there a sub-forum for Political Issues?

This would certainly get you a job at National Enquirer or maybe TMZ.

Personally I don't catch your channel.

um, no, not desperate. I think it's relevant, but since it's not gun-related, I thought it was more appropriate for off-topic. I think the discussion is relevant, since it's pretty much the last "hole card" the Dems can play, and it's true that there is more focus on Biden's partnership with Obama (or lack of it, as it were)

If a mod wants to move this to the political forum section, I'm fine with that. No offense intended to anybody :tiphat:

Been hearing that rumor for almost 2 years. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I hope you are right, but after the "sure thing" that the SCOTUS was going to declare Obamacare unconstitutional, nothing will surprise me. Too many idiots voting.

It is a mistake to believe that resignation would be a decision dependent on Biden willingly accepting. There are other ways to prime the pump... payoff, extortion, etc....and for the record, I will stay suspicious of the Clintons forever.

:iagree: Most of the time the "official reason" that executives and politicians resign is "to spend more time with the family", "pursue other interests" or "unspecified health reasons." Those are standard euphemisms for "getting fired."

LBJ was famous for his press releases announcing resignations of people who had not yet resigned and appointing new people to government positions who had not yet accepted the job.

I don't think it's only idiots. Some of the five hate the constitution, the rights it enumerates, and the limits it places on government.
