UK Tenet Arrested for Shooting Burglars

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “A 35-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested in Melton on suspicion of GBH and four men, aged 27, 23, 31 and 33, were arrested at Leicester Royal Infirmary on suspicion of aggravated burglary.” All remain in custody.
This will be interesting in light of the 2009 case where a homeowner was trying to defend himself against burglars. David Cameron is quoted as saying that a homeowner should have the right to defend themselves and the couple arrested in this story for doing so had been the victims of previous burglaries.

Maybe even the UK will come around. Then again.......

The Brits are completely nuts. The bad guys can do whatever they want, because they know the courts will lock the good guys up and throw away the key. You don't see any sort of organized protest against this sort of things, so it's not not to believe that's what the average Brit wants. Of course if someone broke into the royal palace and was caught stealing, the guards would attack and arrest them and not a word would be said about how the guards should be arrested.

The elites always think they don't have to play by the same rules as the common man, and they could care less if that puts the common man at a disadvantage. It's not their problem.

Until the common Brit stands up and says enough is enough it won't change.

Hopefully Americans will say enough is enough in November. Otherwise we will go the way of the Brits.

The English Constitution, such as it is, isn't written as a single document...its a collection of laws and historical records. While our own Constitution doesn't GIVE us our rights, it does ENUMERATE them in one specific location and in specific language. Thus, when someone wants to monkey with our rights, we have a tendency to look at our wonderful Constitution and make a stink about it when we know they are trying to pull shenanigans. May God Bless our Founding Fathers for their wisdom and foresight.

Does the British judicial system have Jury trials or is it Judges only? Nonsense like this is why there is a need for jurors, so they can vote their consciences and nullify these rediculous laws.

In some cases, we have already gone the way of the Brits. NJ would be just as likely to charge you for shooting burglars because there you have to prove that you retreated first. I won't want to be the person in Chicago who shot a burglar in my house. The gangs can kill each other in the streets but I'd fully expect the Chicago DA to find some to charge a law abiding citizen who fired a gun in self-defense in his own home. They seem to go out of their way to "make an example" of common folks in those situations.

I really don't see a lot of difference in the subjugation mentality between Mayor Bloomberg and the MPs who are responsible for passing the UK laws.

Couple arrested? Did they both shoot? I'm not sure why the British put up with this whole thing. I'm sure Piers Morgan would want them locked up.

in the story posted later on:

"In 2009, the millionaire businessman Munir Hussain fought back with a metal pole and a cricket bat against a knife-wielding burglar who tied up his family at their home in Buckinghamshire. Hussain was jailed for two and a half years, despite his attacker being spared prison. "

Its a whole new level of insanity in my opinion. I still don't understand how it got this bad or why the 'subjects' allowed it to get this far

Here's what happened:

Their frogs kept quiet and still while the temperature in their pot rose to a boil.

Now they're cooked.

There's a lesson there for those who tie themselves in knots trying to avoid recognizing the same types of things happening in this country.

The Brits have been infantilized by decades of socialist dependency. During the riots awhile back the rioters organized via taxpayer provided cell phones and free taxpayer provided transportation, with plenty of time on their hands to riot thanks to taxpayer provided welfare --this all ensures the dependency of the non-productive class while at the same time perversely subjugating the productive class by excessive taxation and fear of the underclass. Eliminating self-defense rights for the Proles, the productive class, ensures that most of them remain passive and depend on the State for nearly everything, guaranteeing the obedience of the productive class --which potentially presents the only real threat to the power of the ruling elites. Any Prole exercising his God given rights must be punished for his disobedience to the State so no sense of independence grows among the Proles. The British Proles have already been emasculated and there is no chance that they will assert their independence and regain their rights. This will change only when the Socialist government suffers its inevitable collapse and plunges the country into chaos.

More folks are finally waking up to face the unpleasant facts.

We'll see if there are enough of them to make a change before we follow the Brits in November.
