Satallite Service

Post by Songbird »

Since DISH cancelled AMC, my husband has been tossing around the idea of switching to DirectTV. They cornered us in Walmart on Labor Day, so we decided to take the plunge. I am AMAZED at how much better the quality is. We thought the black borders at the top and bottom of our screens were something we just had to live with. No black bars with DirectTV. So we now have our AMC back, much better quality viewing, and for 1/2 of what we were paying DISH. Even after all the "special introductory offers" have expired, it's still cheaper. Didn't know our TV could look so good! :clapping:

I have had DirecTV since 2008 and have really liked their service. The HD quality is definitely good. I do think it is much better than DISH.

We dumped Dish about six years ago in favor of DirecTV. We were one of the original first 1M DirecTV subscriber back when you had to buy the RCA hardware/system and self-install. (RCA had the exclusive hardware rights to the first 1M units.) When we went on our extended RV adventure we opted for Dish because of the hardware was already installed in the RV. After a few months we went back to DirecTV. Better picture quality, programming options, and customer service were part of our reason to switch. If you have the DVR receiver you can also access on-demand programming with an Internet connection.

We have Directv in our RV and in our home in La Grange. When we had our house in League City we dumped Time Warner for Directv.

You are right. They have great service and the HD is good.

I've had DirecTV for over 10 years and love it! Way more HD channels than Dish. I upgraded the service to the "Whole Home" thing and have 2 DVRs and a regular receiver and can watch recorded shows anywhere including this computer. Start in one room and continue in another. Really cool. I highly recommend that service. I've also cashed in a couple times for referring people.

+1 for DirecTV.

I had them for two years, switched back to cable because I was suckered in with a great rate. It was like I stepped back in time with the on screen nav, DVR, and picture quality. I lasted about 2 months before I called DirecTV back. I will never use another provider.
