Kingwood Assault

Post by MikeStone »

A Kingwood man was assaulted in the driveway of his Kings Point Village home and robbed of his valuables and vehicle by three men in a pickup truck police believed followed him home Aug. 30.

Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon said the 27-year-old victim was driving east on Kingwood Dr. shortly after midnight Thursday when he noticed a white pickup truck, possibly a Ford, behind him as he turned onto Willow Terrace Dr.

So...if a car follows you, after midnight, around multiple turns, then parks across the street from where you parked...you should go ask them What's Up? Is anyone surprised this guy was slapped around and then robbed?

If someone follows me to my house in a vehicle I don't recognize, late at night, I'm not stopping at my house. I know darn well where the police station is located. That's where I'll be getting out of the car.

:iagree:

I always keep an eye on any vehicle behind me, especially when pulling into my neighborhood. If it's a car/person I don't recognize I keep on driving...always a good idea to "watch your six." :tiphat:

I live way out in the 'sticks'. There is no way any vehicle should be following me after I get off of the main FM road. On the rare occasion that one does, I always turn on the only road that loops around back to the only road out of the area (back to the main FM road). It may be a 20+ mile ride back to town, but that is where I would be going should it continue behind me.

It was not a good idea for the victim to approach them. He should have stayed on his property and only reacted if they crossed onto it.

:iagree: It's a natural thing to do, but in this case, the wrong decision.
