"...the ambulance service was called to treat a man with shotgun injuries.

It is understood that call was made by one of the suspected burglars."

My favorite part... no honest citizens were harmed and the bad guys call for help! :anamatedbanana

I am shocked. Seriously.

What are you legally supposed to do if someone breaks into your home and attacks you? (looking for a serious answer.)

In the peoples' paradise of today's UK, you have a choice between defending yourself and going to prison or submitting to injury or death.

I know that this is going to sound flip but the truest answer is "be a good victim." Cooperate and allow the BG to take whatever he or she wants and don't put up any resistance.

Why? Because the goal of such laws is subjugation. The Brits truly want people to "belong to the government" and allowing any person to assert their own rights or stand up for themselves is the anathema of the required submissive mind set. Criminals, like just about everything else, are the government's job to handle or, at their discretion, ignore. On the scale of subjugation, the Brits are at 95% and we are creeping our way past 70%. A few more years of the current trend in policies and we will be arm and arm (and firearm-less) with them.

Moving into some ones home while they are out shopping or at work, called squatting, is also something you must get used to in civilized England.

You cannot remove the squatters by force, but must go through a civil process that can take forever.

Liberalism taken to an extreme.

And we'll see a year from now where that demand goes. I'm betting that nothing is going to change.

Yep. tougher to get rights, or any lost things back than to keep them, but the frog water gets hotter slowly; too slow to notice almost.

This is the UK we are talking about... William the Conqueror was a squatter... as are the British Royals today. I'd say a liberation of the "subjects" is past due.

The British already gave up their rights. They're not getting them back without a government collapse.
