Anyone shop online at www.car-stuff.com????

Post by x007x »

I needed to buy new headlight cases for my car. Dealership and stores are charging double the amount of http://www.car-stuff.com." onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Is this a legit site and worth buying from and a good company to work with?
Thanks everyone.

I bought headlight assemblies through RockAuto last year. In fact, their parts were so low-priced I replaced the entire front grillwork.
cost $160 shipped.
I'm in the wholesale auto parts business, and I was amazed at the pricing.

Have you tried eBay or Amazon? Earlier this year I bought a radiator off of eBay. The experience worked out pretty well.

Were they OE parts? or aftermarket? If aftermarket what was the quality OE?

Thanks

They were all aftermarket. Quality was as good as OE from what I could tell - fit, finish, material, etc.
This was all on a 1996 F350 - grill, headlights, parking lights, bezels etc.

Thanks I'll have to take a look.

ok, so I looked..
Tousley Ford, New OE head light assembly for a 2005 Mustang (a part I need) $133.36
RockAuto AFTERMARKET part from an unnamed MFR (But CAPA Certified)...$104.79
Car Stuff AFTERMARKET part from an unnamed MFR (NOT CAPA Certified) $141.36

a CAPA certified part may actually be made by the same subcontractor that makes and sells that part to the vehicle manufacture... So is a decent gamble..IMHO.

Aftermarket MFR that is NOT CAPA certified, much more of a gamble.... and in this example, not even a cost saving one.

I think the headlights I got were Tyco brand, which is one of the biggest players in that industry.

Thanks everyone.
I have purchased from them. I've only had one issue. The lift gate supports foe my wife's SUV were bot defective. I called customer service and they sent two more that were OK. Shipped them free and didn't want the old defective ones back. I also buy from Certi-fit. They are online and have warehouse sales in Houston and other cities.

I was looking at OE headlight plastic case for $100 each. I'm not really in the mood to spend $200 each (which I think was the dealership price).

The http://www.car-stuff.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a great price and many of them to chose from, but just not sure if its legit. Its sucks. If you look at reviews from people; they say it is good. But now days people get paid to make up reviews for sites, so not sure if those are even real.

In the last couple of months I have made a couple of purchases from autoanything. They have been been excellent transactions.
