The intruders also rummaged through the family’s belongings, but took only a set of car keys, San Antonio police said.

The suspects, however, did not steal the family’s vehicle, a Cadillac Escalade, San Antonio police said.
Seems like a lot of work to not steal anything :headscratch

Don't assume they didn't steal anything.

Three men breaking in at 3:30 am are looking for drugs and/or the drug money, and they probably had a reasonable expectation that this apartment would have what they needed.

They could very well have walked out with commercial quantities of drugs, but no-one believes the apartment occupants are going to file that on any stolen goods report.

Living in a $500/mo apartment and driving a $50,000 Escalade? Now there is something to :headscratch

At least that is my take on it.

It's happened but even drug dealers usually aren't that stupid.
