Some major cities in other states have seen gang attacks that have become part of a "game" where the goal is to make a surprise attack on the most helpless people and try to knock them unconscious in one blow. Killing them with that single blow is ok too. It did not seem to be catching on in Texas, but this story makes me wonder if this was such an attack. The area this happened in is in the SW region of Dallas.
A young middle school boy was walking to school when a vehicle stopped along side him. Someone inside swung a golf club in a vicious attempt to deliver a blow to the child's head that very likely would have seriously injured him at the least. He dodged at the last second and the blow broke his collar bone instead. The occupants pointed and laughed. He did not know any of them. The motive seems to have been simply to deliver the blow since they did not know him and did not attempt to take anything from him.
I can't describe the cowardice or degeneration it takes for a anyone to do this kind of thing to a child for "laughs". Surely these people will not hesitate to treat an elderly person and other children the same.

Hopefully it will be stopped with the "Shoot to Stop Game"...

We are coming to the day when some legally armed citizen is going to pile up the bodies in one of these incidents.

So many people including some CHL holders DO NOT pay attention to what is around them. If someone can walk up and surprise you - then you were not paying attention.TexasGal wrote: the goal is to make a surprise attack on the most helpless people
Re: Has the Knock Out Game arrived in Dallas?
IF this is indeed the "Knock out game", then I agree that it is likely that some people will be hurt or even killed by this because of the random viciousness of the attacks aided by a lack of situational awareness on the part of the victim...but I also agree that eventually, they'll try it on the wrong person and it will go very badly for the assailant(s).
Re: Has the Knock Out Game arrived in Dallas?
I would obviously rather these attacks didn't occur at all and I wouldn't wish for anyone to be forced into a position to take a life but I truly hope the next intended victim is someone who sees it coming and has the means and skill to defend themselves and, in the process, issue a warning that will make more of these animals think twice.Jumping Frog wrote:We are coming to the day when some legally armed citizen is going to pile up the bodies in one of these incidents.
I am not advocating anything outside the law but any animal that would attack a child, especially with a weapon, deserves to be put down or worse. It truly boggles my mind how anyone could do something like that.

These sort of people are incapable of coherent thought; once, twice, or any combination of integers.SRH78 wrote:...and, in the process, issue a warning that will make more of these animals think twice.
