How Many Forum Members Does It Take to Change a Light Bulb?

Post by Kythas »

One to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.

Fourteen to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.

Seven to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

Seven more to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs.

Three to correct spelling/grammar errors.

Six to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb."

Another six to condemn those six as stupid.

Fifteen to claim experience in the lighting industry and give the correct spelling.

Nineteen to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb (or light bulb) forum.

Eleven to defend the posting to the forum saying that we all use light bulbs, therefore the posts are relevant to this forum.

Thirty six to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty.

Seven to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

Four to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL.

Three to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to this forum, which makes light bulbs relevant to this forum.

Thirteen to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety, including all headers and signatures, only to add "Me, too."

Five to post to the forum that they will no longer post, because they cannot handle the drama.

Four to say, "Didn't we go through this already, a short time ago?"

Thirteen to say, "Do a forum search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs."

Three to tell a funny story about their cat and a light bulb.

Last, but not least...

One lurker to respond to the original post six months from now with something unrelated and start it all over again.

Hi Jack.
We had some rain so I didn't water my bulbs. My mom used to dig up her caladium bulbs and store them in the garage hanging up in hosiery, I just always left mine in the ground. Each bulb individually was light, but all together they got heavy. The bulbs ARE lighter if you are sure to get all the mud off of them. They'd be even lighter if you sqeezed all the water out of them, but I doubt they'd grow the next year. I figured they grew years before man started pampering them, I'll just leave them alone.

How many computer programmers does it take to change a lightbulb?
NONE! That's a hardware problem.

How many inattentive, ungrateful sons does it take to change a lightbulb?
Mother, with long sigh: That's OK, I'll just sit here in the dark.

Is it a union job; because if it is I am not qualified or properly trained to do it!
Please refer to the union booklet or shop steward

Several dozen will rightly chime in with reminders that BHO and his minions (EPA) are continuing to erode our freedoms piece by piece as they COERCE us to adopt mercury-filled compact fluorescent bulbs through legislation instead of letting the free market reign and consumers decide.

Unfortunately, I didn't have to try to shoehorn politics into this one. How sad.

We have one (click on "view more smilies" and go to page 2), but if you read the rant I just posted, you'll realize this smiley is politically incorrect. . . with its earth-damaging, inconsiderate, fat-cat, Republican, middle-America, Bible-thumping, redneck, inbred, backwards-thinking incandescent bulb.

What if a KID saw that incandescent bulb and thought it was OK to create heat and waste energy?!?!
