*the women's rights vote....I'm thinking alot of women are already getting tired of this whole "war on women" thing....women do think about more than their "women parts" (yeah there are 'those women' and R&R aren't going to get their votes, so we just won't worry about them) but most women worry about jobs, security, starting that dream business, etc....
*the Jewish and Black vote....the republicans are slowly getting more of both of these groups, but it's very slow....I wish we could get accurate % from last election and this one, but we never will.
*AARP is not ness for DEM, basically because of the changes in medicare....because it's so bad that it might there now, but my husband who is now just old enough for AARP uuuuuh, Medicare will be broke the year I am eligible for medicare...not AARP, don't I wish...

Unfortunately, it really doesn't matter much who wins. Far too many people focus on the president, forgetting that it's congress who writes the laws and congress who writes the budget (or doesn't write it, as in the last few years). Honestly, whether it's Romney or Obama, we still have a bunch of asshats in the legislature doing everything they can to get re-elected and nothing to correct the disastrous direction we're headed in.

That's true, Longtooth. You've got me there. It's not like they are going to help fix any of this mess we're in, but new justices could make things a whole lot worse.

Though, since they've already given the govt unlimited power (so long as they call it a tax, oh wait, congress doesn't even have to do that, the court will just call it a tax for them), the court we have has pretty well mucked things up.

When I told people over a year ago that I think Obama is likely to get reelected if the Republican Party doesn't have a very strong candidate they laughed at me and said no way no how. Now they are quaking in their boots. The bottom line is that the election will come down to 4-6 states that are all within 5% points in the vote. I am also sorry to say that I know many people who love him in other states and some in Texas. This whole country is changing and has taken a hard jump to the left imo. It is going to be very hard for Romney to win imo. He has to take states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida to win this election and in those states he is trailing by a very small margin according to the polls. It’s all up to those states. If he loses there he loses the election! I just hope we don't have another 2000 election! It will be horrible for our polarized country!

The bottom line imo is that Obama is not unbeatable but look at who the Republicans put up against him. As far as I am concerned the Republican Party needs to take a long hard look at itself and figure out what its political direction is in the future because I think it is only going to get harder to beat liberal democrats every year. This country is changing whether they like it or not and they are having an identity crisis.

I have 2 major concerns about this election. With 47% of voters not paying taxes and dependent on government for handouts, Romney and all future republicans will have a very hard time getting to a majority. While not all that 47% may vote, the dems are very good at using unions, acorn, and others to get the vote out. Throw in a little voter fraud, lawyers to challenge votes before simpathetic judges and the dem's are much closer to a majority than I would like. By encouraging illegal immigration and amnesty programs, the dem's are actively seeking to change the demographics of this country. They will use race baiting and handouts from now to the second coming. My second major concern is the corruption of the media that, to me at least, became obvious in 2008. The constant drum beat on anti-republican stories, the constant ridicule for minor misstatements while constantly showing Obama in a positive light will have an impact on the vote. Whenever there is bad news for Obama, the media ignores it or spins it into a positive.

I'm not quaking in my boots. Did you read my post above? There is no historical statistical reason to accept an Obama win as inevitable. In fact, the odds are actually against him. All that other stuff is just noise (which is mentioned in the book I quoted stuff from) pushed by the media because it fits their narrative. The latest is that the polling is now recognized by many in media, and not just from Fox News, as being heavily skewed in favor of democrats by the way in which the polling agencies have over-sampled democrat voters. What this means is that in those polls where Obama is show as being ahead of Romney, he's actually just even with him, and in those where he's shown as even with Romney, Romney is actually ahead.

Romney is going to win......as long as conservative third party voters don't remain recalcitrant and throw their votes away after a third party candidate.
