I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Oh yeah. Never really watched Walter and only saw Andy a little, but I'm still kind of middle of the pack around here at just a couple years shy of 50.WildBill wrote:Walter Chronkite.C-dub wrote:Was that Andy Rooney?Oldgringo wrote:"...and that's the way it was..."

Re: Poor Situational Awareness
During his tenure, Walter Chronkite was called "the most trusted man in America." He had the reputation of being a true journalist who reported the facts without personal bias. Of course he had a bias, but when he reported on a news story, the majority of the public believed him. I believe that he had a lot of person integrity and tried to live up to the expectations of his television audience. IMO, he was a real reporter and not just another pretty face or talking head like we have today.C-dub wrote:Oh yeah. Impressive display of natural ability. Probably doesn't get much easier for a cat like that.
