Naw, he wasn't a Republican.

Dead or not, insulted or not, he'll still get voted since he was a Democrat. :smilelol5:

As much as I have no use for anything NYC, this has an odor to it. How far/fast can a person run with a load of bricks?

That's just Bloomberg emulating his buddies, the Chinese, for their policy of billing the family for the cost of the bullet used to execute their family member.

I was interested in this threads direction.. so waited a bit to post..

I admit I no knowing about the event that lead to the persons death, nor do I trust the actions of the named department... so those things aside for the point of discussion.

Me, personally, Im ok with holding the estate of a dead criminal responsible for restitution covering the damage they caused. :tiphat:
Im ok with a criminal , a thief who ran from his crime, and part of that attempted escape caused damage to the LEO vehicle being charged for the repairs.

We do this now all across the country.. a truck driver causes an accident where folks are hurt or killed, including the truck driver.... that truck drivers company and his personal estate attacked for restitution, and civil awards. .. Same with all manner of folks having their estate gone after, POST criminal or negligent event.

Why should a criminal be exempt from the same personal responsibility all of us here have, should we negligently cause damage to a LEO vehicle, today..

While I do agree that criminals and/or their estate should be held responsible for the damage they caused, but in this case they area is a bit grey on who should be liable. While the criminal did cause the chase by evading arrest on foot, but it was a LEO behind the wheel of the car that struck and killed the criminal. In this case I think the NYPD should take responsibility for the damage to the vehicle.
