I just updated both my Life Membership and my wife's Life Membership to Endowment Memberships. Checks went out in today's mail. Will that do for now?

I'm working on paying out my EPL membership. After that, I'll either upgrade to Endowed, or sign my wife up for a Life membership.

They are no longer supporting him. They supported him in the past because—in the past—he had been a supporter of the 2nd Amendment.....or at least what passes for one among democrat senators. That said, NRA is STILL the MOST effective supporter of your gun rights, with the best record of success doing so, more so than any of the other wannabe orgs which are mainly noisemakers.

So you can choose to not support NRA, but you're actually helping the enemies of the 2nd Amendment by doing so. It's kind of a "money where your mouth is" kind of thing......

So how do you support 2nd Amendment Rights activism at the national level......besides your vote? I'm also not trying to flame, but I'm asking you from the heart, do you think that at this particular time in history, in this particular election cycle, do you think that gun owners can afford to coast on the financial contributions made by others? I understand it if somebody is flat broke and just can't do it. In this economy, there are a lot of people in that boat. But you haven't stated finances as a reason for not supporting the NRA in your previous two posts, and so that is why I am asking you, "what financial contributions are you are making to protect the RKBA at the national level?"

Again, not flaming. Just curious, because it seems to me to be too important an issue for gun rights activists to not contribute to these kinds of efforts, whether through NRA or some other org.

I don't give monthly, but I do fairly regularly. When my late wife passed away, SHE specified gifts to the NRA in lieu of flowers, and so many donated in her name that it made me eligible for an upgrade to Benefactor, but I never took advantage of it.

This past week I had to put down my beloved Chocolate Lab, Fudge, who used to get all excited to accompany me to IDPA matches and then go hide under the car when the shooting started, and next payday a donation in her name will be sent to NRA, as well as a matching amount to TSRA.

The NRA is perhaps the most effective lobbying organization in Washington. Good lobbyists cost money. Good lobbyists get results. Money spent on the NRA is an investment in your personal (and our national) interests.

Although I fully support the NRA I fully understand where powerboatr is coming from. I also have some heartburn with the NRA regarding their support of Reid in the past, and hopefully it will never happen again although it is a wait and see game.

If Reid cared one iota about the 2nd Amendment or gun owners he would have brought Senate Bill 2213 up for a vote, he decided not to do that, it is politics at it's finest so no Democratic member of the Senate or the President would be on record as voting against it. Reid has let SB2213 die with no action being taken, I imagine some will say that he has not voted against us, but he has not helped us either so as far as I am concerned Reid is a major failure and a bad investment on the part of the NRA and ultimatlty the dues paying members....
