Did you pay by Credit/Debit Card? If so, contact the CC/DC Bank and dispute the charge. Tell them you paid for a service that was not received and they will credit your account and then they will handle the Gun Store.

It's not as convenient as the first scheduled class b/c that one was really close to where we live. Needless to say, we are not very pleased with Shooter's Edge (Waxahachie) b/c they would not refund our $240.00 (2 @ $120.00). We could have already taken our class from another location (Duncanville) who are much more accommodating. After all we will have to travel a distance either way now. We really want to build a nice relationship with a local gun store, since becoming a licensed carrier is a very important life decision. Thus far, we have not had a very good experience with our local store. It's really unfortunate.
I suspected this was the gun store in question.

Yes, we did pay by CC. The store has already arranged our lesson with another instructor in Ennis. Just not as convenient at the first one. We will see if this one provides a better experience. If not, then we will follow your suggestion. Really wanted to have all this done in short order so we can get our CHL. Time is wasting and things aren't getting any better on the political front.

Did they at least give you some concession to make up for wasting you time waiting for their no show instructor, in addition to the time and gas cost of your wasted round trip because they failed to provide any instructor on the original date?

The store offered no concessions at all. They only said it was not their store's policy to refund the money we had paid for the class. They did offer an instore credit for $240.00, but that is not what we are needing right now. From this point on, I doubt we will spend any more money in their store. I'm sure there are many more gun stores that will offer a better experience than the one we have had with Shooter's Edge. They need a lesson in how to treat customers right.

This situation is no different then you paying for steak and being forced to accept fish. By accepting store credit the merchant is only returning a portion of your money.

The law is basically give me what I paid for or give me my money back. I wouldnt mess with these people. You have two choices, contact the CC company and demand a credit, or sue in small claims court and make the pirates pay + court fees....and possibly a lawyer. I loath grifters. I totally loath grifters

Tellem I said to give your money back. :coolgleamA:

As an instructor how do people know i am reputable?
Just be professional. Have a little web site, very neat and organized. There are free web sites everywhere. Have some pictures on it of you working with students, giving lectures, etc. Maybe a couple of testimonials from former students. In your publicity (flyers, business cards, etc.) have the URL to your web site. And of course, at the actual lesson, have everything neat and clean and organized, and dress and talk in a calm, professional manner. Word will get out.

It's two weeks later and they still haven't delivered the class or refunded your money. That's very unprofessional.

It has been one year since Waxahachie’s Police Chief Chuck Edge and his family opened Shooter’s Edge. He is shown listening in as his wife, Kathy, behind the counter, explained the various guns that are featured at their store. From left is Anita Williamson, city of Waxahachie downtown development director; Laurie Mosley, city of Waxahachie Convention and Visitors Bureau and Amy Hollywood, city of Waxahachie community relations manager. The shop is located at 1037 W. Highway 287 Bypass, Suite A. For more information, call 972-938-2800.
Anything in the video worth paying to see?

Guess that rules out a police report...
