It's better than nothing.

Interesting article in Rifleman with comparison data on everything from .32 to 45, different ammo and gave penetration and expansion of each. While I would rather carry my larger caliber all the time, made me feel better about the .380 or nothing days.

The article makes a few excellent points without getting bogged down in the caliber debates:

A gun is better than no gun.

The ability to perform with accuracy and speed is just as important with a small gun as a larger one. There are no handicaps awarded for tiny sights, pulled shots, or slow shooting in a gunfight.

No matter what you carry, you need to be able to use it to effectively stop somebody who's working as hard and fast as he can to kill you. In that 3 second encounter, there won't be any second place winners.

nice article! i just came back from kroger to get some milk w/ my lcr in the front pocket. someday i will be attending those defensive carry classes. looks so much fun!
