I think the salt is the white blobs on shore.

The "bullet" looking things are boats. The white blobs are piles of salt bigger than the boats. Look close and you can see some people standing in some of the boats. Its also easy to see the seating running horizontally across the boats.

You might be right. Just strange that all the boats look identical and that there are some inland.
