Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill

Post by HotLeadSolutions »

At first glance, while entering the establishment everything appeared "OK"
-No 30.06
No 51% Sign in view.

Had lunch...Wonderful Food, overall good experience....

THEN..as we we exiting (different doors that you enter through) we saw it ... 51%

After going home and doing a little research on TABC's website, it is listed as a BLUE gun sign.

Yet another example of a location improperly posting TABC signage... :headscratch

Well, you notify the manager that they have the wrong sign, or you can notify TABC and they will correct the issue.
If you leave it alone, then you are hurting all other CHLs who happen to see the sign as they enter and have to go disarm.

I have notified TABC, but have little faith that anything will happen. TABC was also notified (more than a year ago) of Billy Bob's Texas being improperly posted as a 51% location, and to date, nothing has changed.

Hmm, sorry to hear that.
The one time I contacted TABC, they reacted within about 2 weeks.

There was another post recently about someone doing that also, and they also responded very quickly.

Billy Bob's isn't 51%? I honestly don't see how. . .

I also would have assumed Billy Bob's to be 51%.

Ticket, food and souvenier sales are also calcualted into it. And, you would be suprised at how many people don't drink alcohol, but drink water or soft drinks when there.

I guess. . . but it seems like the stumbling, vomiting, and fighting patrons drink enough to make up for all of that. Glad to be wrong!

Hopefully Toby Keith will make enough money from his restaurant that he won't have to make anymore terrible "music". :biggrinjester:

Seem to remember him supporting a certain presidential candidate in 2007/8 that kind of disappointed me. Hopefully it won't happen again. Been reluctant to support his establishments/music ever since.

Received this email from TABC:

We received your complaint through our "Complaint Intake System".

Thank you for your concern regarding the signage at the subject location. This matter have been resolved.

Additionally, I have provided you Section 61.11 from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code:

Sec. 61.11. WARNING SIGN REQUIRED. (a) Each holder of a license who is not otherwise required to display a sign under Section 31, Article 4413(29ee), Revised Statutes, shall display in a prominent place on the license holder’s premises a sign giving notice that it is unlawful for a person to carry a weapon on the premises unless the weapon is a concealed handgun of the same category the person is licensed to carry under Article 4413(29ee), Revised Statutes.
(b) The sign must be at least 6 inches high and 14 inches wide, must appear in contrasting colors, and shall be displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public. ¬The commission or administrator may require the holder of the license to also display the sign in a language other than English if it can be observed or determined that a substantial portion of the expected customers speak the other language as their familiar lan¬guage.

Sincerely,
