This holster came with a whole lotta patience...

Post by urnoodle »

too bad it was delivered at the same time I got the holster. :biggrinjester:
4.5 months and it's finally here! Actually with all the handstitching and molding that went into it, it was worth the wait. It's far better in person than it is in the pictures.

I have already managed to get goo all over the back of it. Must be from the big roll of ducktape behind it.

And my carry fits perfectly. I'm going to give it a good test drive tomorrow. I've had it on around the house and its very comfortable. :fire

Details sir, details.

Who made it? What's the list price? What are you carrying in it? :bigear:

Very nice looking holster, thanks for the photos.

Ma'am....I really gotta change that username . The guy who made it does it more of a hobby than a full-time business. He has a youtube channel and that's how I found him. He goes by the name Revelcraft. He also has a website; http://sites.google.com/site/harlinleatherworks" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I paid $100 for it which included the shipping. Everything is hand done. The pictures really don't do it justice. He also makes belts and mag pouches. If your interested check him out on youtube or his website.

Edit: I forgot to add what was in it.... It's a Rock Island Armory .45acp with a 3.5" barrel

My apologizes, ma'am, urnoodle is a little gender neutral.

Very nice holster and a good price. I am not currently looking, just keeping options open just in case.

Thanks you, ma'am.

No apologies necessary.
Well I wore the holster all day and I nearly forgot it was there so I'd say I'm really happy with it.

I recently picked up a very nice OWB holster, reviewed on this thread. http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=59072" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not posting this to hijack your thread, I'm just frustrated with having a beautiful holster and the State of Texas makes me cover it up in public. :rules:

Today we had a shoot at the club where I am the event coordinator, needless to say I tucked my shirt in and wore it openly and proudly all day long. As a range officer, and the range was under my control during the event, it fell into "private property or property under your control." Got a ton of compliments on it.

This is the aspect about Open Carry I've never been able to comprehend. I don't know of a single trainer that would ever recommend an exposed firearm without a retention mechanism, unless you're in a military unit (and, oh boy, do they have a whole stack of rules about that  ). I'm not insulting your desires here -- I can fully understand why one would want to show something like this off, it's definitely beautiful, but it seems to me that walking around in public with a gun in it is like walking around with $1000 hanging out of your back pocket. :tiphat:

:iagree: . Hijack anytime. Some holsters are just plan art. Let see someone cover up their Picaso in public. That's great you had the opportunity to show it. I jumped over to the thread and you have a very nice holster. I can see why people complimented you on it. The two tone is great. My next holster I'll have to give that some thought. I was going to have Revelcraft add some carving and possibly an ostrich stifner on it but since it has to stay covered I went for something I'm proud to wear but yet I still kept it simple. So many beautiful holsters. If I could afford to, I'd buy a new one every week.

correction: I'd buy a new one and new gun every week :biggrinjester:

If Texas ever passes OC I'll consider putting my Glocks in something nicer than the Blackhawks I currently use.

TAM you did alright! Very nice. So what came first the holster and mag pouch or the boots?

I lived in Arizona for a time. I moved there from a state that did not allow OC. At first it was a little strange to see people OC but after a few months, I really didn't pay much attention to it. OC only makes people nervous because they aren't accustomed to seeing it. If it was the norm and not the exception then I don't think anyone would think much about it.
