Dallas area competitions.

Post by Wildscar »

I got to thinking. If I'm going to spend money to go to a range and shooting a few rounds why not do it where I stand a chance at winning something. Or at the very least meet some new faces. Or put a face to some names from you guys reading this. What kind of competitive shooting is there to do here in the Dallas area?

IDPA and USPSA for a couple.

And others can be found on the web.

You won't be seeing me at any of those places, though, until I start generating income from a new job, and I have no job prospects right now.

Thanks Jim. I'll look into those.
Good luck in you job hunt. I know it can be grueling thing to go though.

Any one else on the forum in the Dallas area do any competitive shooting?

I shoot about twice a month with the Dallas Pistol folks at Elm Fork. Click on that link that Jim gave you and then on the Events tab. They usually have an IDPA match every Wednesday and Saturday.

Lots of fun and I'm getting to be a better shot every time I go. Once I get my accuracy where I want it, I'll start working on the speed.

Edited to add: I've found that the folks shooting IDPA are some of the friendliest I've met anywhere. They are very patient with newcomers and if you're looking for ways to improve your shooting, just ask any one of them for advice.
