Student name change after taking class but before CHL

I have emailed DPS and asked them this question. I also told my student she would probably have to call to get an answer but I would like to know the answer to this question. Thought I would ask the all knowing CHL forum! :-)

I have a student that took my class a couple of months ago and is just getting around to doing the online app. Since she took my class she has gotten married and had a name change. Does she need to do the app with the old name and then have it changed or is there a way for her to change it now to not waste DPS's time putting out 2 different licenses?

We had this happen once.

She needs to change her name on her driver's license first. Do the online app with her new name. Send in her original CHL-100 with the old name, but a CHL-6 with her NEW name.

And a copy of her new driver's license, and a copy of her marriage license. And a note explaining all this.
