OWB 1911 Commander Holster

Post by harrycallahan »

I have a A & G gun belt and a Cross Breed Super Tuck as my CCW setup now.
What I want to know from those that carry a commander sized 1911 OWB is what
holster do you use/think is best.
I like to keep this handy... for close encounters.

I've been thru a LOT of holsters. Both off the shelf and custom made.

I have finally settled on the Galco Concealable Belt Holster for my 1911's and have one for each lengths of my 1911's.

They look good and work great. They are NOT cheap, but I believe they are worth the price. Shop around and you can sometimes find them for less than quoted at Galco.

Here's a link to the commander length. And this is true commander 4.25" length:

I use a Raven Concealment System for my full size 1911. ( now retired due to authritis)

And my now daily carry. Springer XD45. Double stack so a little thicker even than the Comander.

As above not $9.95 but quality gear.

I use a belt slide holster. I have to unholster and holster several times a day. That type holster allows me to not have to remove my holster just my weapon.

I bought a Raven not long ago and it works great with my G23.

I also Milt Sparks Axiom or Lou Alessi CQC-S.

For my 1911 I picked up a Bianchi 125, it is a great OWB holster and the one that I use most for that firearm. I also have a Raven Concealment that is excellent.
