I carry IWB with a strong gun belt and expanding my tummy makes it hard for another person to remove my IWB gun
I also pocket carry, and it's near impossible for another person to remove that gun
I carry concealed No one would think to try to grab my gun anyway; the temptation is not there ...
But still ... Trayvon Martin tried to get a concealed carrier's concealed gun ...
What does concern me .. is people who are untrained in gun retention techniques (and those who are unaware of their surroundings, but want to show off a BBQ gun etc) wanting to open carry in a belt-slide type holster.
I'd hate to have to use my concealed weapon to stop a criminal teen or two who decide it would be fun to steal another licensees openly carried weapon and use it against other, and I'd prefer not to be put in that potential position. I'm too old and too poor to take care of all of the unprepared/unready/unaware and pay the legal costs later. This is an age/time where some teens play knockout/surprise punch "games" I absolutely think they'll think it's fun to get two or more to play "Surprise/take the gun from the unaware guy" game... If you want to provide temptation, just safety pin a couple hundred dollar bills to the back of your shirt, that doesn't endanger others as much as an open carried pistol with no retention device or skillz...
There ... I said it.
Perhaps if Open Carry ever passes, people should at least go to the YouTube school of gun retention
