Wouldn't telling the cops you have a lot of weed be against the law since you don't?

And the trick is to make sure one stays married.

I have enough gray hair to have seen many of my contemporaries go through battles with ex-wives that make this ex-GF look like a warm-up bout.

For the record, I am still with my first wife (God bless her soul for putting up with me all these years) and intend to keep it that way.

Go to the cops and explain what's going on. Take the dogs papers etc.
Then if she files a report, you already have information on record.

Lawyers cost money, and no one likes to spend money.
However a $100 lawyer letter can stop a lot.
I had a competitor's sales clerk talking trash about my business.
I sent a $100 lawyer letter to the franchise owner and the corporate office.
Sales clerk fired, big sales meeting with three stores in Las Vegas, no more trash talk from any of them.

People pucker right up when they learn their yap can cause them real problems.
Once you make it personal, she'll either go away, or excalate the situation to criminal.
MOST go away.
Be without fear in the face of your enemies.
Stand brave and upright that the Lord may love thee.
Speak the truth always even if it means your death.
Protect the helpless and do no wrong!

:tiphat:
I would microchip or tattoo the dog. If the dog is lost then it will be easy to ID.
Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice guys I think I am going to visit my county sheriff monday or tuesday and tell him what is going on. He is pretty cool and will hopefully keep things cool.

anyone know the legal side of dog ownership in Texas? I mean they are considered property right? so it would be small claims court civil case wouldn't it? I don't think anyone is drinking the koolaid she is pouring about drugs and guns. I have never even been questioned about either of those things in my 33 years on this planet.

that's a good point Andy, either that or harassment

IANAL. Unless you purchased the dog and gave it to your girlfriend it is yours. If you did give it to her, then it is hers. Apparently you still have the documents when you bought the dog that show you are the owner, so I don't understand the issue. :headscratch

Did you or she ever tell anyone in public that it was her dog and you bought it for her as a present?

Even though you didn't ask, my advice is to leave her alone. Do not call, do not write, do not have anyone call on your behalf. Do not return her calls or messages. Do not have any contact or anything to do with her. If you see her on the street, go the other way. Find yourself a new hobby to keep you busy. I think I made myself clear. ;-)

P.S. IANAL or mindreader, but I don't think she wants the dog. She just wants to be in control of the situation, which apparently is working.

:iagree:

She's a bunny-boiler.
Do this:

1. Rent "Fatal Attraction"

2. Watch it until it's burned into your memory.

3. Buy a second dog for a guardian and companion to the Doxie, A BIG mean looking Rott, GSD, Doberman, Pit Bull, etc.

4. Follow the advise above it's good.

5. If all else fails move.

I had to actually go google the term "bunny-boiler." Now I get it.

From what I hear, ex wives are bigger trouble than ex girlfriends, and they usually want totake a lot more of your stuff than a dog.

If he can get one, a protective order might be a good idea. It also sounds like he has grounds for a defamation lawsuit, but she might be crazy enough to take th attention as encouragement
