Re: Cop versus Clown
A bunch of years ago my volunteer fire department was battling a particularly bad fire, which was actually outside our town although within our fire district. We ran out of air tanks and called the fire station on the radio to phone the police to deliver spares from the common tank bank that our five fire departments maintained at town hall. They refused to make the run because it would mean going outside the town, so one of the ladies' auxiliary members took the chief's car that was at the station and went to town hall to draw several tanks from the bank to bring to the fire.
The only problem was that the village Halloween party was underway at the firehouse when the call came in, and this particular lady was dressed as a clown, and when she showed up at the police station for the tanks, they wouldn't give them to her.
A couple of nasty radio and phone calls ensued, and eventually the tanks were given to her and she ran them to us, full code, but in the meantime some of us "smoke eaters" including myself, had to really eat smoke.
The following Town Fire Officers' meeting resulted in a vote to remove backup fire equipment from the possession of the police and into the adjacent fire station where it remained for decades.

Which one is the cop

Chance favors the prepared. Making good people helpless doesn't make bad people harmless.

Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?
