Antique Firearm

Post by Bennies »

I was given an old antique musket for my birthday. This particular weapon has been in my family for a long time but I know nothing about the age or history. I think it is from the 1840's and its definently pre Civil war. Does anyone know who I could take the musket to that would have expert knowledge about the weapon? I was hoping there would be someone in the magnolia/Conroe area.

You might see what the "gun library" at Cabela's has to say about it.

http://www.cabelas.com/browse.cmd?categoryId=103792680" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."

Well I found out what it was. It was not a musket but a Kentucky Rifle. Once I found a website with a few pictures it was easy to identify. That's a pretty cool b-day gift.
