First time with a "full size" gun
Well, my father in law helped me get a little early Christmas present. I was able to pickup a brand new Gen 4 Glock 19 with night sights (he paid for the upgrade to night sights). All I had to pay for the package was $430 and he paid the rest!
Previously all I ever carried was a .32 auto pocket gun so switching to something full sized (or close to it) made me a little nervous. I have a supertuck on order but in the meantime I picked up one of those "Sticky" holsters to use for now. First day I was able to carry happened to be Sunday so my second "wally walk" was at Church. So that morning I picked out my largest button up shirt, got the gun the situated, and off we went to Church. At our Church there are no seats or pews, everybody stands (except for some seats around the edges for older people or mothers), why is another discussion, its an "Eastern Orthodox" church which in a nutshell is "Pre-Catholic" church, anyways on to the story... We have our little 10 month old too so I was doing a lot of bending over, picking up the baby, putting him down, and so on. I felt really comfortable the whole time. I am certain the butt may have bulged out a bit when bending over but nobody said anything, I doubt they would ever expect somebody was carrying in there anyways.
Overall I am very happy with just how comfortable it is to carry the glock 19. I was thinking it would be a huge hassle going from something the size of the palm of my hand to the 19. Its not. Can't wait to get the supertuck and the bullbelt in. I imagine it will be even more comfortable at that point.

Sounds good, congratulations on the upgrade

I'll quit carrying a gun when they make murder and armed robbery illegal

Oh and of course the picture. Nothing special, just a glock. Such a comfortable glock though.

Re: First time with a "full size" gun
Congrats on the 'upgrade'. Most days I carry a gen3 glock 17 IWB with no problem - including yesterday at church. I'm catholic, so there's lots of kneel, sit, stand, sit, stand, sit, stand, kneel, stand, kneel, sit, stand, kneel in wooden pews. I've learned to sit softly & not bend at the waist when I kneel. When we go to my wife's church (Church of Christ), it's a cakewalk with the stand a couple of times & sitting in padded pews. Your 19 should conceal even better than my 17 since it has a slightly shorter barrel. I've heard good things about the SuperTuck. It should work well for you. I use a DeSantis TuckThis because it's got a mag-pouch right on the front.

Yep. Don't side-show the sticky holster too soon.
I have found the Remora no-clip holster... it's a sticky holster... to be a great way to carry. I carry a G17 all the time too.... probably about 75% AIWB, 25% OWB. Anyway, try carrying the G19 in the stick holster appendix. It's amazing...

The sticky holster will get a good 4-5 weeks (depending on delivery times for Crossbreed) of daily use. I do find it pretty easy to put on. I don't like the way it shifts around a little as I move around. But overall its a really great way to carry.snatchel wrote:Yep. Don't side-show the sticky holster too soon.

Congrats on the upgrade, and on the early Christmas present.
When I ride my bike, I use a Remora holster for my Glock 36, and it works great. I also sometimes use it for short trips to the grocery, etc, or for carry around the house.
Most of the time, I use a 'real' holster, and I do prefer the snugness it provides.
