most speed bumps are in two parts just ride between the speed bumps and they are no big deal

Can't do it in a cage (if you don't understand the cage comment then you don't ride)

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that his gear, like any other Motor officer, is approved by his department. I saw moto pants and boots, a helmet and gloves. MAYBE even body armor, hard to tell.

Not sure why your post rubbed me the wrong way... seemed pretty cold. Guy was doing his job and made a mistake.
There but for the grace of God go I.

Peace.

In My opinion, a 3/4 helmet, nylon or polyester trousers, and a light weight shirt is not "gear" and while it may be department approved gear, it's idiotic for one to wear when your primary duties are to ride a motorcycle on the streets. If that was the required department gear, I'd find a new job.. There are departments that allow (require?) motor officers to wear actual safety inspired, proven effective gear.. seen it many times.

If my department did not allow me the best equipment available... I would find a new job.

As for his riding "mistake" well same thing I have told another user here with the signature about professional and safety checks.. .. that Motor LEO ,, his JOB is to ride a bike in the performance of his duties..

it is HIS JOB to know the streets he rides, the KNOWN hazards, and have the required SKILL and observation to deal with it.

He FAILED to know the hazard was there.
He FAILED to SEE the hazard he did not know was there.
He FAILED to handle riding over the hazard he encountered .

Cold? I guess,, observant and obvious is how I would put it. :thumbs2:

I don't wish him harm of course, but I wont excuse and ignore his SEVERAL mistakes and his lack of proper gear to ride a motorcycle,
