I married my lovely bride on 10/10/10. Got settled in Texas in October of 2011 and sent in the electronic applicaton on 10/20/2011. My bride wants to take the CHL class with me so...

Scheduling conflicts....
Vacation.....
Weekly travel for several months... "Do we really want to use up half our weekend on the class?"

October of 2012: Okie Day, Darlin', my application is about to expire so I'm going 10/13, if you're comin', c'mon.

Eight in the class. Ex-DEA type goes 250/250. Marine Reservist just back from the Rockpile goes 250/250. I brain cramp and go 249/250. My darlin' goes 249/250. The instructor cycled the fans on the range during the last shots and as the target blew back, we both dropped one just low.

My paper goes 10/15. She applies and her paper goes 10/19. After lurking here, I manage to avoid the 'check it again today' until 10/31. Woohooo! Our paper made it. Now begins the wait.

With nerves of steel, I wait until 11/12. Her status: Mailed. My status... fingerprints and background under review. Same status today. Seriously!?

I should have never left her or Texas 30 years ago.

Mailbox to Mailbox: 60 days exactly... just when I had given up hope for Chrismas given the mailing times experienced by others.

Two (evil) thoughts.
On 12/7 @ 0900 my status was Pending Manufacture. @ 1700 it was Manufacturing... so, the once a day update thing didn't seem to be true, at that stage at least, so check it early and often

My status went to mailed on 12/10 and I had it in hand on 12/14... so, although logic would dictate that after it has reached it's final status ("mailed") further checking would do nothing, my superstitious belief is that checking to see if it still says 'mailed' serveral times a day speeds the process.
