Anybody here a member of Arlington Sportsmen club?

Post by GSchretter »

I have been a member for about two years and was wondering if there were others.

I got the newsletter last week and the president talked about the gun range closing. Do you have any idea what this about.

I know they are going to drill for oil/gas and stuff but close down the range?

I also got their newsletter and from my reading, its only dealing with the 25 yd pistol bay that is being repaired/refurbished. I don't think it applies to the whole club.

I am not a member but I would really like to take a look around. I am interested in becoming a member since I live in Mansfield. I drove out there today but the gate was closed so I guess there were no matches. This would be alot closer than driving out to Winchester shooting gallery in Fort Worth.

I would appreciate any information on the club and when the best time is to come out and take a look around. Thanks in advance to any and all information.

Sunday is probably their most popular day for matches (at least for shotgun). The gates should be open at least by 11:00 am. Anybody there can probably direct you to a director who could help you out with information about the club. If the gates are locked, you might try to google "Arlington Sportsman Club". They have a website at http://www.animedge.net/asc/

I heard the only way you can join if someone ask you to.

There have been allot of rules changes.
They are building a new 25 yard field.

Also the club is private and no one suppose to be out there unless a member.

I will see if I can get bar's phone number.

I only went out there to see if they were open to check it out. I know it is a private club and that is why I was interested in joining.

Their website changed to: http://www.geocities.com/arlingtonsportsman/ . Their membership secretary is Monica Atkins at 817-563-1470. You might give her a call in the evenings before 9:00. ASC is a members only club, and it has a good rifle and shotgun ranges.

I would like to join since the range is so close to me, but it seems impossible to get invited out there for a look. I am really confused about the whole situation. The website is not much help at all.

Whats the deal with this club?? Do they not want any new members??? Took several calls to Monica (never would return my calls) to find out that the membership person is someone else named Tammy now. Have called and left a message there too with no return calls. Now no one answers at all.

Does anyone have a # for say any other officers that I could get info or an app from??

Thanks
Byron...

It appears that they do not care at all. If you need to shoot I have found winchester Shooting Gallery to be very accomadating.

Go out on Sundays between 11:00 and 2:00, the gate should be open.
I went out a couple of weeks ago and they showed me around. You will have to attend some meetings, work days and get two members to vouch for you.
