I think that's one of the intrinsic problems we face: the libs think any semi-automatic version of an M4 is an "assault rifle."
It isn't. It's simply a rifle that looks like a military rifle. It looks that way because the basic operating platform has proven, over decades, to be solid and reliable. That's why we own it.
An AR-15 can only fire one tiny round--hey, it's essentially a .22, after all--with one squeeze of the trigger. It can't do burst fire; it can't go full auto. It is not an assault rifle.

Re: MrColionoir-Why I NEED an Assault RIfle
Before people get on him about his use of terminology, it is easier for me to purchase a modern semi-automatic sporting rifle, but I'd far prefer being able to easily and inexpensively purchase a true "Assault Rifle". If an ordinary Iraqi can cheaply purchase and possess a full-auto AK, why can't I?
Thus the phrase "MrColionNoir - Why I NEED an Assault Rifle" makes sense to me.

After the failed bank-robbery in Hollywood using full-auto rifles, street COPS asked to be armed with same powerful rifles. Why? Bad person with powerful gun would only be stopped with good guy with same powerful firearm, if not with superiorily powerful firearms.
What is good for the COPS, should be good for mere law-abiding citizens.

Come to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, where you can buy one in the farmers market or your buddy will lend you one in a pinch. Or, even in Afghanistan where they build you said rile in a cave while you are waiting.Jumping Frog wrote:Before people get on him about his use of terminology, it is easier for me to purchase a modern semi-automatic sporting rifle, but I'd far prefer being able to easily and inexpensively purchase a true "Assault Rifle".
